 Katie
Smith began dancing at the age of
eight. She performed for nine years as a Company member with the School of
Performing Arts and Southern Ballet Theater in Orlando, Florida. She was a
performing member of Florida Dance Masters' Main Attraction and a member of the
Doctor Phillips Magnet Dance Program. While completing her dance degree
focusing in the discipline of Modern, she worked as a choreographer for the
Valencia Community College (Orlando) Choreographer's Showcase.
Since 1999, Katie has taught various styles including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz,
hip hop, and tumbling. She ventured into the realm of ice skating in 2002
when she began choreographing for skaters at the RDV complex.
Katie's choreography credits
include the theater productions "The King and I," "Away in a Manger," and "Golly
Gee Whiz." More visible performing roles include an appearance in the
Jimmy Buffet video "Fruitcakes" as well as the annual New Balance fashion
release show in 2004. |
