Allison Meyer began dancing at Chris
Collins Dance Studio in 1992 and hasn't slowed down yet. Allison's world revolves around
dance, and whether it's as a dance student, a teaching assistant, or
a competitive dancer, she can always be counted on
to excel.
That commitment to excellence was
recognized on June 27, 2004, when she was named the Chris Collins Dance
Studio's Student of the Year.
The honor topped off Allison's 12th
year of dance -- a year that saw her dance regularly in both Dale
City and Alexandria, pass the Grade 5 Cecchetti examination, and
earn solo and group recognitions at several dance competitions.
"Allison has grown up dancing in our
studio since she was three years old," commented studio
Director
Chris Collins. "In recent years she has matured into not only a great performer, but, an outstanding student. She is always ready to dance her best -- on stage
and in class. My choice for Allison to be the 28th Student of the Year seemed to be confirmed when less than a month later she receive the Betty
and Danny Hoctor award from a panel of teachers at Dance Caravan."
On hand at Showtime 2004 to help
present the award to Allison was 2003 Student of the Year Amanda
Desper who added, "Allison is a wonderful dancer and a great person,
and I'm so happy for her to be named Student of the Year."
Asked what she enjoys most about
dancing at CCDS, Allison commented, "I love that you can go to the studio and always have
a good time with friends no matter what happened that day."
