RECITAL PHOTOS are coming soon.  Be sure you know the time for each of your photos.  Arrive early – BE READY at the appointed time.  Be prepared with all stage makeup, accessories, & costumes. There are information/order forms available from SPLENDID PORTRAITS. All photo orders and payments are done directly between students and Splendid Portraits.

THERE ARE NO CLASSES MAY 28-31 MEMORIAL WEEKEND.

The last day of classes is Saturday, June 19^th. We hope you have had a great dance year and hope to see you in summer classes!!  The best compliment you can give our teachers is referral of friends.  INVITE FRIENDS TO SHOWTIME 2010!!

SUMMER DANCE SESSION

Classes begin July 6^th.  There are still openings in many classes.  If you have not yet registered, please do so BEFORE the recital.  Registration in Alexandria can be done during regular class hours.   Registration for all fall classes will be in August. If you have questions about placement of your students, or about our dance company, please Email the director.

RECITAL TICKETS

Ticket sales in Alexandria are during class hours June 14-19 only.  In Dale City, tickets will  be on sale Sat. June 19 – 9:30-11:30 a.m. Tickets bought in advance at the dance studio may be paid by credit card or cash $15.00. NO CHECKS! TICKETS PURCHASED AT THE HIGH SCHOOL ARE CASH ONLY- $15.00!!    

Pre-paid Recital Fee tickets must be picked up at the dance studio or during dress rehearsals – THEY WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON THE DAY OF PERFORMANCE!! ALL ACCOUNTS MUST HAVE A CLEAR BALANCE BEFORE PICKING UP ANY TICKETS!

You are reminded that every person occupying a seat will need a ticket.  Preschool students who join other family members in the audience AFTER INTERMISSION will need a special “intermission only” ticket at no charge. Students who attend a performance that they are NOT participating in will need a “student ticket.”  There are no reserved seats.  This is a very large auditorium and there are plenty of tickets and good seats available. 

NO PARENTS EXCEPT DESIGNATED VOLUNTEERS ARE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE IN THE DRESSING ROOM AREA DURING PERFORMANCE.  WE REQUEST THAT ALL AUDIENCE MEMBERS REMAIN SEATED UNTIL INTERMISSION. At intermission only - Preschool students can join their families for the second half of the performance once they are out of costume.

From Alexandria studio: Follow Van Dorn Street south  as far as it goes (through Kingstowne).  Turn Right on Telegraph.  Follow to  school on your right.

From Dale City: Take Route One North to Telegraph Rd.  Make a left on Telegraph and follow approx. 3 miles to school on your left.  –OR- take 95 North to Exit 166A Newington.  Follow Newington Road to Telegraph Rd and make a left of Telegraph.

MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL 

STUDENTS REPORT AT 2:00

DRESSING ROOMS WILL NOT OPEN UNTIL 2:00 PM

Students who do not attend rehearsals will not perform in the recital!!  Please arrive on time for rehearsals.  The matinee performance will rehearse on Thursday, June 24.  The evening cast will rehearse on Friday, June 25. Students are expected to look the same on stage in rehearsals as they will in the show.  Have all parts to your costumes, correct hair and heavy makeup.  Bring extra bobby pins and safety pins.  No jewelry or nail polish. Students may watch rehearsals.  They are not open to guests. Rehearsals are a long night for students.  Food concessions will be available in the lobby.

PERFORMANCE DAY

STUDENTS IN MATINEE (12:00 Noon) REPORT AT 11:15. STUDENTS IN EVENING (6:00 SHOW) REPORT AT 5:15

During recital, students remain in dressing area throughout show.  (Only preschool students will be able to join parents AFTER INTERMISSION when they are in street clothes.) Older students should bring a snack and something to keep them occupied!

VIDEOS AND PHOTOGRAPHS MAY BE TAKEN DURING REHEARSALS ONLY!!

During the show, no cell phones, or cameras of any kind!! Please cooperate so you do not distract the dancers or other audience members.  The show will be professionally recorded by Stonewall Video Productions.  You may choose to order a DVD or a High Def Blue Ray Disc. Orders will be taken at recital and there will be an additional order form in the program book.  DVD orders must be submitted directly to Stonewall Video Productions by mail or at recital.
